Southampton: Indian cricket team will play its first intrasquad match today. Team India is going through a soft quarantine in England and has not got enough opportunities to practice yet. The Indian team will not get to play any match from any local team of England or New Zealand, apart from this there is very little time left in the World Test Championship final which is starting from June 18.
Meanwhile, BCCI has shared a video of Team India practicing in which you can see Indian bowlers and batsmen trying their match fitness.
While the focus is on Bumrah and Ashwin in bowling, Rishabh Pant has once again dominated the batting. The video begins with off-spin by Ravichandran Ashwin who is bowling alternately to the Indian batsmen. During this, you can see batsmen like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane defending, while Pant is seen playing aerial shots as soon as it is his turn.
There is no doubt that Rishabh Pant will once again be seen playing his natural attacking game and during the match practice also his emphasis is on the same kind of aerial strike for which he has made his name in the world so far.
Pant smashed Ravichandran Ashwin's delivery and went a short like helicopter stroke. Apart from this, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami can be seen bowling. Coach Ravi Shastri was taking stock of the game of the players standing from behind at the bowling end.
The BCCI had also shared the practice video of the Indian team yesterday. Team India has only five-six days when it can practice continuously before the World Test Championship.
New Zealand already playing Test matches continuously and the World Test Championship will be their third match on the tour of England. The first match was drawn but New Zealand was heavy, while on the first day of the second match, seven England batsmen were dismissed by the Kiwi team on the score of about two and a half-hundred.
