Mumbai: Indian hockey player, Devindra Walmiki, called for help from BMC after his 10-by-12-square-foot, one-room home in the Niranjan building, Marine Lines was flooded.
"It's an emergency. It's a humble request to @mybmc @AUThackery @Iamhulkanal to kindly help us out with the waterlogging at my house in Marine Lines. My family tried reaching out to the local ward but ones ready to come, as I'm in the Netherlands for my hockey matches," Devinder tweeted.
Devinder is currently in the Netherlands and is all set to take part in Hofdkalasse season for Dutch hockey club HOC Gazellen-Combinatie(HGC). Both the Walmiki brothers have represented India in both World Cups and the Olympics.
The havoc of nature is threatening most of the parts of Maharastra which includes Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhurg, and many other Western parts of Maharashtra like Satara and Sangli.
The IMD Mumbai stated that the city had received 33.1 cms of rainfall and suburbs got around 16.3 cms of rainfall. In the last 24 hours, many regions of south Mumbai witnessed maiden floods. Mumbai recorded 160 cms rain in the last 24 hours.
