Ahmedabad: Off-spinner Axar Patel and Ashwin's bowling partnership helped India to squeeze England's innings on the third day of the fourth and final Test against India here on Saturday. Daniel Lawrence was batting on nineteen and Ben Foakes was on six at the tea break.
Rishabh Pant with lightning hands and Ollie Pope has stumped off Axar Patel. He jumped out beaten in flight and turn, Pant did an excellent stumping before Ollie Pope could get back.
Ben Stokes became Axar Patel's second scalp. This was a flighted delivery close to the off stump and ends up giving catching practice to the Indian captain.
Earlier, Washington Sundar's 96 runs knock helped India, remained on 96 when he ran out of partners, as India were all out for 365 in their first innings. England had scored 205 in their first innings. He faced 174 balls and hit 10 boundaries and one six, and remained unbeaten, missing by 4 runs that what would have been his first Test century. For England, Ben Stokes scalped four wickets and James Anderson three.
