New Delhi: A month after undergoing angioplasty, former India cricket team captain Kapil Dev has taken to Twitter to share his health update with his fans and well wishers on Friday.
The veteran cricketer also extended Diwali wishes and thanked well wishers who wished for his speedy recovery.
"Happy Dipawali to everybody and I hope this year brings lots and lots of happiness to everybody. Thanks for your wishes. I am healthy and happy. Heart is working good but I want to wish everybody lots and lots of happiness around the world," the cricketer said in a tweet.
On October 23, Kapil Dev had suffered cardiac arrest for which he had to undergo angioplasty at the Fortis Escorts Hearts Institute in Delhi.
The 61-year-old recently returned on the golf course, a sports that he has been actively playing after retiring from cricket.
"You can’t express in words what fun it is to be back on the golf course or a cricket ground. It is beautiful to be back at the golf course, having fun and playing with friends. That’s what life is all about," Dev posted a video message on his Twitter handle.
In his illustrious career spanning over 16-year, Kapil has immensely contributed in strengthening the Indian cricket. He is also credited for the 1983 World Cup, beating the might West Indies in the final.
Kapil has played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs for the Indian cricket team. In the longest format of the game, the all-rounder amassed 5248 runs and picked 434 wickets
A Bollywood is underway on the historic 1983 World Cup victory. The film named '83' stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil and also features Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil and Adinath Kothare in pivotal roles, along with Deepika Padukone as Kapil's wife Romi Dev.
