New Delhi: Ahead of the much-anticipated clash between India and Australia, Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday rolled out an Augmented Reality (AR) effect featuring India cricket team captain Virat Kohli.
The AR filter is titled as "Bat Talks for India" and will enable fans to reanimate Kohli's iconic celebration of marking his century against Australia in a 2018 match by superimposing this effect on their photos and videos.
The 3D effect have been developed by Facebook in collaborations with Sportsmanias.
"I am delighted to collaborate with Facebook to launch the new 'Bat Talks for India' filter and enable my fans to relive one of the most memorable moments from my career, virtually. I look forward to cricket enthusiasts in India and across the world to experience this new way to connect and engage," Kohli said in a statement.
To use the effect in Instagram, you have to make sure that you are using the updated version of the app. If you are, then you have to go to Virat Kohli's Instagram profile where you will find the filter tab to see the newly introduced AR filter 'Bat Talks for India'.
Once you click on the filter, you will be able to save the filter to your Instagram camera. To use the filter, you have to open the camera icon and swipe right until you find it in the list of your saved filters.
On Facebook, the effect is available on Virat Kohli's post.
India is scheduled to play lengthy tour against Australia starting this Friday, The itinerary consists of four Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.
