All over the world, we are experiencing a slow climate change. Places are getting warmer, summers are lasting longer, days are extending beyond hours and we are turning up the cooling systems like never before! This climate change is due to many factors. It is connected to the system of the sun, the positioning of the earth, the direction of the winds, the rise in the tides and spread of rainfall over a region. A global climate change is the average of temperature change of all the places ,on earth, combined. Thus it is due to this connectivity that makes the Global Climate Change more interesting and something to ponder about.
Well, lets first take a look at what is Global Warming? Global Warming can be described as the gradual increase in the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere because an increased amount of energy striking the earth from the sun is being trapped in the atmosphere and not radiated out into space. Previously, the earth would act as a greenhouse which would remit back the energy and keep the earth's temperatures regulated. However, now due to large amounts of heat being kept inside the earth, the temperatures are rising faster than ever before. Thus adding to global warming. Changes in temperature, or rather an increase in global warming, can change the great patterns of wind that bring the monsoons in Asia and rain and snow around the world, making drought and unpredictable weather more common. Also, if climate change continues unchecked, its impacts are almost certain to get worse. From sea level rise to heat waves, from extreme weather to disease outbreaks, each unique challenge requires locally-suitable solutions to prepare for and respond to the impacts of global warming. Thus it has become extremely important to look at solutions to global warming. Some solutions to this climate change are as follows:
Firstly, the biggest solution to this is practicing energy efficiency. The energy used to warm up residences, offices and commercial complexes end up contributing to global warming the most. Thus, Energy efficiency technologies are the real solutions to this problem and it allows us to use less energy to get the same, or higher, level of production, service, and comfort. This approach has vast potential to save both energy and money, and can be deployed quickly.
Secondly, one can look at other renewable sources of energies as an option. Renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal and bioenergy are available around the world. Various studies have proven that renewable energy has the technical potential to meet the vast majority of our energy needs. Renewable technologies can be deployed quickly, are increasingly cost-effective, and create jobs while reducing pollution.
Thirdly, the countries of the world must recognize this as a global problem which requires a collective effort. From the the most advanced country to the least developed, all contribute to Global warming in their own dramatic way. Thus they must, together, make contributions to the problem of climate change and do whatever it takes in terms of their responsibilities and capacities to confront it. A successful global compact on climate change must include financial assistance from richer countries to poorer countries to help make the transition to low-carbon development pathways and to help adapt to the impacts of climate change.
As many studies and weather reports have proven, the effects of Global warming are felt all over the world. Thus, it is now time to put these studies into perspective. Its time to convert the ideals into institutions or groups which will implement the right strategies to deal with global climate change. It is time to take on this challenge on a global scale.
