Soha Ali Khan's debut book " The Perils of Being Moderately Famous" was launched in on December 12th 2017 at a star-studded event. For the first time ever, Sharmila Tagore, Saif, Kareena, Saba and Kunal Kemmu gathered together to unravel Soha's memoir.
Published by Penguin Randomhouse India, "The Perils of Being Moderately Famous" is a collection of Soha's personal essays where she recounts, with self-deprecating humour, what it was like growing up in one of the most illustrious families of the country. The book also contains never-seen-before images of her family and childhood, along with a few of her recently born daughter Inaaya. From outlining the intriguing personality of her father to her mother's illustrious family tree, her relationships and her struggle with writing, Soha's debut novel is a breezy and riveting read, full of wit and humour.
Soha recently received, what can be said, the most prominent review and compliment on her book, by none other than the thespian Amitabh Bachchan.
In a note to her, he wrote, “Even though on the surface you are sort of reticent and shying away from the spotlight, your genuine and funny sense of humour has been skilfully portrayed confirming that you possess a steely something in the middle that says ‘You know what, I’m actually really really good at this, and this is what I can do, and I have done it’.”
The thespian, 75, wrote that he enjoyed the book immensely. Soha tweeted: “So happy to get this in the mail! Thank you so much, Amitabh Bachchan, for taking the time to write this to me – it is such an encouragement!”
Soha Ali Khan is married to actor Kunal Kemmu and they are parents to daughter Inaaya Naumi, born on September 2017.
