New Delhi: A recent United Nations report has revealed that 16 million Indians are living away from their homeland.
The report states that 244 million people, or 3.3% of the world's population, live in a country other than the one where they were born.
It claims, Indians make up the largest diaspora at 16 million, which partly reflects the country's demographic size (1.2 billion).
After India, Mexico has the second largest diaspora, with 12 million living abroad, the majority of them in the US.
In 2015, the most popular destination among migrants was the United States, followed by Germany, Russia and Saudi Arabia.
