New Delhi, Nov 29: Former Indian captain, MS Dhoni has made into headlines, this time not for cricket but for Kashmir visit, the former captain is honorary Lt Col in the army and was invited as a chief-guest of an army-sponsored cricket tournament in the valley.
A video from the same event has gone viral in the social media in which local people greeted former Indian skipper with chants of ‘Boom, Boom Afridi’ in reference to Pakistan’s former all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who had retired from international cricket last year.
After which the security personnel deployed at the event tried their best to push the crowd back but to no avail as the crowd kept chanting the Pakistan all-rounder’s name.
When Dhoni was asked about India-Pakistan cricket relations, he said “An India-Pakistan cricket series is much more than just sport. It’s not a simple decision. It’s a diplomatic as well as political decision. It’s best left to the government to take a call.”
Last time both the countries played each other in a Test match was back in 2007 while bilateral ODI and Twenty20 International series were held in India in 2012.
