Bengaluru: In an ugly incident of vigilante justice, a 21-year-old Tanzanian student was allegedly beaten, stripped and then paraded naked by a group of Bengaluru locals who assumed she was part of an incident in which a Sudanese man had run over a local woman. According to reports, the incident happened on Hesaraghatta Road, where a Sudanese national had run his car over a 35-year-old woman on Saturday night. According to the Tanzanian victim's complaint, the angry mob allegedly dragged her out of the car and thrashed her before burning her car to ashes. The mob then allegedly stripped of her clothes and paraded naked. Reacting to the shocking incident, Bosco Kaweesi, legal advisor to the African students union claimed that she had arrived on the scene after 30 minutes of the incident and was not connected to Sunday’s Hesaraghatta accident.
