SC on Sabarimala: Will hear review petition on November 13; Kerala CM blames RSS, BJP for chaos

New Delhi, News24 Bureau, Oct 23: Plea against the Sabarimala Verdict has been admitted by the Supreme Court and the next hearing is on Nov 13. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan blames BJP and RSS for all chaos in the state and reiterated that he will ensure that the SC verdict is implemented in letter and spirit.

"Protesters tried to check vehicles, attacked women devotees and media persons. It was the first time in the history of Kerala that this type of attitude was shown towards the media," said Pinarayi Vijayan.

He further added, "Kerala government made it clear in front of the Supreme Court that it will implement the verdict. The govt arranged all facilities. Neither government nor the police tried to block the devotees. RSS tried to make Sabarimala Temple a war zone."

The Supreme Court had said on Monday that it would decide as to when the petitions, seeking review of its Sabarimala verdict allowing entry of women of all age groups into the temple, will be listed for hearing.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice S K Kaul had considered the submissions of lawyer Mathews J Nedumpara that his petition seeking review of the constitutional bench judgment be listed for urgent hearing."We know that there are 19 review petitions pending. By tomorrow we will decide," the bench had said.Nedumpara was mentioning the petition filed by National Ayyappa Devotees Association.A five-judge constitution bench by a ratio of 4:1 had held that women of all age groups should be allowed entry in Kerala's Sabarimala Temple.
