Jaipur, Nov 13: Rajasthan education department is planning to make Sanskrit a compulsory third langue beginning from class IV to class Xth in all state board schools. The move may take shape in a short span of duration as it will ensure that students have access to ancient wisdom regarding
The decision is slated to implemented in all the government and Public schools.
Presently, students have the option to select the third language from Sanskrit, Punjabi, Gujarati, Urdu, Sindhi and Bengali.
"The department is chalking out feasibility of making the ancient language compulsory in schools. Soon a detailed proposal will be shared with Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje and HRD minister Prakash Javedkar," said state education minister.
