New Delhi: All efforts of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to reach out to travellers and help common man seem to be negated by few officials. In a shocking incident, a cancer patient is at the receiving end of Railways apathy.
Now the cancer patient patient Sanjeev Kumar Singh is running from pillar to post to get a confirmed ticket back home. Sanjeev is being treated at Tata Memorial Hospital. After his routine checkup, Sanjeev booked a concessional ticket for himself and his attendant with the requisite certificate from the hospital. He go a wait list ticket on Lokmanya Tilak train to Varanasi for April 26.
On April 25 he got the information that his ticket has not been confirmed. To book another ticket, he sought another certificate from hospital. However, as per norms the hospital cannot issue second certificate for the same route.
Now, poor Sanjiv is in a fix. His only hope now is the Railways, which can help him get back home. Hope Minister Prabhu will hear his cry for help.
