New Delhi, Oct 15: Former Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank chairman Wariyam Singh's son has property worth Rs 2500 crore in Juhu, investigations have revealed.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has found that Wariyam Singh had allegedly bought a five-star hotel in Amritsar and properties in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
According to Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Barve, there will be more arrests in this case.
The account holders staged a protest during the appearance of the accused before the court during Tuesday's hearing.
The court sent Wariyam Singh, Rakesh and Sarang Wadhawan the court to the EOW's custody till October 16.
So far the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has recorded statements of 25 people, which include the employees of PMC bank and the people associated with the Wadhawan.
According to sources in the EOW's SIT, the money was lost through hawala, former PMC bank MD Joy Thomas, through a person named Mehta.
EOW summons Joy Thomas' second wife Yasmin Khan. Joy had married her after converting to Islam and had changed his name to Junaid.
The investigation has also revealed that many illegal properties have been taken by both of them,
