PM Modi’s plans for 2016: Likely to cut down on foreign visits

New Delhi: In 2016, Prime Minister Modi is looking forward to cut on foreign tours, indicated Prime Minister's Office on Thursday.

According to reports, the step is a repercussion of Opposition’s protest against Modi’s extensive foreign trip.

The office indicated that in 2016, PM will only attend important international summits and visits which will play a part in boosting India's trade ties.

In the year gone by, opposition parties have repeatedly targeted the PM for his extensive foreign trips and questioned as to what has India achieved from them.

In his first 19 months in office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited 33 countries around the world.

Thus, leaving Congress with an opportunity to dub Modi as an "NRI PM" .
