Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama will have a bilateral meeting today in Laos. The White House said that the bilateral talks will be held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit.
The White House said, “In the afternoon, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India.” This will be the eight meeting between the two leaders. Their last meeting was at the G20 meet, where Obama had praised Modi for GST, terming it as a’bold policy’. Modi and Obama had met for the first time when the Indian PM had travelled to the US in 2014. President Obama is scheduled to address a press conference soon after meeting PM Modi.
