Pics: Indian cricketers visit Sita Temple in Sri Lanka with family

New Delhi: All work and no play makes boys in blue dull and therefore they tried to make best use of their time while playing cricket in Sri Lanka. After all India won the first Test by a comfortable margin of 304 runs which was their fourth biggest win in terms of runs and the second Test by an innings and 53 runs.

This trip also became a joy trip fot Indian cricketers who decided to visit the Ashok Vatika, a garden in a Sri Lankan village named Sita Eliya in Nuwara Eliya district, which finds a mention in the Puranas and Ramayana. Ace cricketers like Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma visited the historic place along with their respective families.

The cricketers later posted pictures of their visit on social media where they are seen in the best of mood with their families.

Later the cricketers also visited the Seetha Amman Temple.This, according to the mythology, was the place where it is believed that Sita was held captive by Ravana. "Ashok Vatika is a garden that is present in the Sita Eliya in Sri Lanka,” Shami posted on Instagram.

Umesh also posted a picture with his wife on his Instagram page and wrote, “Ashok vatika big foot mark of Lord hanuman ji”. (sic)

Besides Shami and Umesh others who visited the Ashok Vatika were Kuldeep Yadav and KL Rahul.

On Saturday, India is playing the third Test Match with Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
