In Bollywood, we have witnessed a trend of war-related stories which include forfending social evils, guarding national heritage and fighting terrorism.

Box office numbers of these patriotic films are also proof of how much the audience has appreciated the country's achievements and re-enactment of historical events. In 2020, Bollywood will bring some more interesting patriotic films and below we have listed a few of them.
As the country will celebrate its 70th Republic Day soon, here's a list of upcoming patriotic films which will intensify the feeling of inclusion and togetherness among the people:
Satyamev Jayate 2:
John Abraham will be carrying the Satyamev Jayate franchise in this vigilante action film. The film will be helmed by Milap Javery and Bhushan Kumar. In the film, John will be seen in the police avatar once again and will be seen doing some high octane action scenes. The shooting of the film began on 20 September 2019 and is slated to release on Gandhi Jayanti this year. Satyamev Jayate 2 will also feature Divya Khosla Kumar, wife of Bhushan Kumar, in the lead role.
Attack is an upcoming action thriller film which will tell the story of hostage crisis inspired by true events. The film features John Abraham, Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles. Attack is written and directed by debutante Lakshya Raj Anand. The film will hit the theatres on Independence day this year.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
It is inspired by the real-life story of Gunjan Saxena who was the first woman combat aviator to have entered the war zone in 1999 Kargil War. The film will see Janhvi Kapoor in and as Gunjan Saxena. It will be directed by Sharan Sharma under the banner of Karan Johar led Dharma Productions. The film will also see Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles and is scheduled to hit theatres on March 13 this year.
Udham Singh Biopic:
Vicky Kaushal will play the titular role in the biopic of freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh who killed Michael Dwyer to avenge the many deaths of the innocents he murdered in Amritsar’s Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film will be helmed by Shoojit Sircar and is scheduled to release on October 2nd this year.
This movie will feature Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw, the first Field Marshal of India who led India to victory against Pakistan in 1971. The film will be directed by Meghna Gulzar who previously directed Vicky in Raazi. The script of the film is written by Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Shrivastava along with Meghna.
Helmed, written and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Shikara will hit the floors on Feb 7. The film’s story revolves around the lives of 4,00,000 Kashmiri Pandits and the struggles that followed due to the mass departure from the valley. Shikara will mark the debut of Sadia and Adil Khan. The background score of the movie has been composed by A R Rahman and Qutub-E-Kripa while music is composed by Sandesh Shandaliya and Abhay Sopor.
Shershaah narrates the personal and professional life of army officer and Param Vir Chakra awardee Vikram Batra. Popularly known as the Kargil hero, Captain Vikram Batra went by the code name Shershaah. The film will star Sidharth and Kiara Advani in lead roles. It is scheduled to be released on 3 July 2020.
