Pathankot attack: Gurdaspur SP reaches NIA HQ

New Delhi: Punjab Superintendent of Police Salwinder Singh on Monday reached the headquarters of National Integration Agency (NIA), where he will be questioned in connection with the Pathankot terror attack.

Singh had been summoned by the investigation agency on Friday after NIA found discrepancies in his statement to NIA and Punjab Police.

Singh, who is at present Assistant Commandant of 75th battalion of Punjab Armed Police, along with his jeweler friend Rajesh Verma and cook Madan Gopal, were allegedly kidnapped by terrorists on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1 before they entered the IAF base in Pathankot and carried out a terror strike.

Also, Singh was shunted as the SP of Gurdaspur district following the allegations of breach of discipline.

Meanwhile, NIA has registered three cases in connection with the Pathankot terror strike.

The first case relates to Salwinder Singh's abduction and the second for the killing of the taxi driver. The third case pertains to the terrorist attack on the Air Force Station.
