New Delhi, Aug 20: Taapsee Pannu is considered to be one of the bravest Indian actresses, popularly known for working in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films.
The 32-year-old, who has worked in several hit films, has shared her inspirational journey, asserting that although achieving success as an outsider in the film industry can be a tough task, it is not impossible.
Taapsee Pannu's story in the film industry is one of numerous ups and downs. Being an outsider, she has faced many difficulties, continuous rejections and even insults from every corner.
Also, she has been called a bad luck charm because she played small roles in two or three films which didn't do well. So she got abended from everywhere but still, she is thriving in the industry.
"Here, I have seen a lot. I have been to award shows where I have been made to sit on the sixth row because they felt I wasn't worthy of the front row," Taapsee was quoted as saying by PINKVILLA.
"I was called a 'panauti' by a south (Indian) director and it took years to remove that tag, producers didn't want to meet me," she added.
"Nobody found potential in me as an actress. Getting replaced in films had become a routine."
Talking about insults, she also said, "A casting director once told me I was the worst thing about 'Chashme Baddoor'. That was so hurtful."
But the interesting fact is now the same casting directors approach her for films, That's how time changes. She is still fighting bias, but today she is more confident about her charms and her work.
