Padman Controversy: Akshay Kumar, Twinkle trolled for hurling ABVP flag

New Delhi, Jan 24: When it comes to promoting one's movie there is no-holds-barred for the Bollywood actors. The marketing mavericks are also suggesting some novel and weird ways of promoting films. This trend has taken shape in recent 5-6 years very strongly.
And the film happens to be a home-production (most of the actors are producers these days) the enthusiasm to promote the film goes up many folds. Same is happening with Akshay Kumar and his home production Padman.

The film is based on a real-life episode where Arunachalam Muruganatham, a social activist revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene among Indian woman with the introduction of low-cost sanitary pads. He also made low-cost production process feasible compared to the earlier times when sanitary pads were costly.
Akshay Kumar was in the national capital to promote his film. His team had organised a Women's Marathon at Delhi University and Akshay Kumar was there to flag-off the event. And what stirred a hornet's nest was that he flagged off the event waving an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)
flag. Also present at the venue was a group of flag-waving supporters of BJP’s youth wing.
ANd then what followed was not in a very good taste, both for Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna. Instead of elaborating on the subject further we are sharing the tweets who pounce on Padman in a harshest possible way.
