Mumbai, Sep 23: The Mumbai police will use an anti-drone system to foil terror attacks and intercept hostile drones which may be used by terrorists during such incidents.
Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, has been a prime target of terrorists for several decades now.
Drones have become a big threat to the whole world as they can wreak havoc if used with nefarious intentions.
The Mumbai Police will use anti-drones to deal with possible drone attacks by terrorist groups. These are expected to effectively deal with suspect drones.
The anti-drone system has the ability to take down drones operating at a particular frequency.
At present, the Mumbai Police has one anti-drone. On detecting a hostile drone, this anti-drone is expected to disable it by breaching its remote access.
A senior Mumbai Police official confirmed this in a conversation with News 24.
The Mumbai police used an anti-drone system for the first time during the Ganpati immersions a few days ago.
