Mumbai: Poor Saif Ali Khan is at the receiving end again. This time twitterati took on the 'Nawab for pricing Sonu Nigam on his 'Azaan' tweet. Finally, it was the royal Khan who had to keep quiet.
Joining the Azaan debate, Saif said that Sonu's tweet was "aggtressive". However, in an interview to Indian Express, he added “amplification of sound comes from insecurity”
“Not just here, but also in Israel apparently where three different religions co-exist. It’s fine to express your views on the decibel levels. I think that tweet was a bit aggressive though, initially. And I do think religion should be a private affair and we should be a secular country,” Saif said. “As a minority, you would like to make your presence felt and hopefully accepted. If someone says that it should be extinguished, it will make some people little uncomfortable. As a precursor to some sort of holocaust, it’s the first thing you think of. There’s a bit of fear there,” Saif added.
And that was enough to infuriate the Twitterati. He was slammed with all typoes of comments, twitterati has stopped short of abusing Saif.
“Saif Ali Khan who chose the barbaric “Taimur” name for his son out of insecurity fears too? What a sham this idiot,” wrote one. “Saif do u hv guts t criticise stonepelter?? Hv u ever condemed the act of stonepelter on our gr8 indian army? So u r condeming sonu’s tweet!” (sic) said another one.
On Twitterati blcklash, Saif said, "I don’t like saying something then prattling on about the same thing . Neither do I like being the speaker on all issues.”
