New Delhi, July 11: In a couple of hours, HMD Global is slated to launch Nokia X5 in China. In the past few weeks, several images, design, and hardware of the yet to be launched smartphone have leaked
Prior to its launch, it appears the price of the Nokia X5 aka Nokia 5.1 Plus has been divulged as well. The soon to be launched Nokia phone will be priced beginnig at CNY 799 (approx Rs 8,200), keeping in line with past reports.
According to a report in India Today, the Nokia X5 or Nokia 5.1 Plus as it is expected to be called outside China is seen as a cheaper version of the Nokia X6 that was launched in China a while ago, and is expected to make its global debut on July 19 as the Nokia 6.1 Plus. As per a promo teaser spotted on Weibo, the CNY 799 price of the Nokia X5 is likely the base variant of the phone with 32GB of internal storage. We expect a 64GB variant as well, which is expected to cost CNY 999 (approx Rs 10,300) although there's no new leak on that.
Notably, the latest leak once again shows the Nokia X5 with a notch, pretty much confirming that this will be the second notched Nokia phone after the Nokia X6. As per a TENAA listing last month, the Nokia 5.1 Plus will sport a 5.86-inch with HD+ display and will likely be powered by either a Snapdragon 600-series chip or a Helio P60 SoC. A separate report this week seems to suggest a Helio P60 chip is the most likely contender.
As for the cameras, the Nokia X5 may come with a 13MP + 8MP configuration. The front could also see an 8-megapixel sensor similar to the Nokia 5.1. Lastly, the phone could house a 3000mAh battery, which is almost the same as the Nokia 5.1. We'll know in a few more hours everything we need on the Nokia X5, its pricing and availability.
