Nokia Dhamaka..FREE trip to Dubai..Know details

The Nokia 9 is all set to launch before 2018 ends. HMD Global will be hosting an event in Dubai on December 5th and has sent out media invites. Going by the event invite, it suggests that the company may launch at least three smartphones at the event which could include recently leaked Nokia 2.1 Plus, Nokia 8.1 alongside the Nokia 9.

Juho Sarvikas, HMD Global Chief Product Officer has also shared the event invite in a tweet captioning it #ExpectMore. Nokia’s CPO Sarvikas extended an invitation to Nokia fans to around the world to participate in a community contest to get a chance to win a free trip to Dubai. To get this free trip to Dubai the Nokia fans just need to leave a comment below its official community forum post. The company will select a few lucky fans who will go on a 48-hour round trip to Dubai.

The invite poster displays three smartphones, with different width of the displays. The smartphone in the middle is seen with the widest display among the three, however, this could be also due to the angle at which it is held. The smartphone on the right side of the poster has chamfered edges while the other two do not. The company is expected to reveal Nokia 9 with five cameras on the rear panel at the event.

Nokia 9

The rumours leaked so far suggest that Nokia 9 could sport a 5.5-inch QHD display with bezels similar to the Nokia 8. The smartphone could be launched in two variants, one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory and one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

As far as design is concerned, it could sport a glossy rear panel either made up of glass or metal with a vertical dual rear camera setup. Since the company is launching the device in January 2018 or February at MWC 2018, it is expected that it will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset rather than the newly announced 845 processor with IP6 certification and will run on Android 8.0 Oreo.

As far as price is concerned Nokia 9 may come up with a price tag of approx. Rs 36,000 for the 64GB variant and approx. Rs 40,800 for the 128GB model.

Apart from these two smartphones, Nokia is expected to launch Nokia 8 Pro,  Nokia 6(2018) and Nokia 3310 4G variant that were launched recently in China with some other smartphones.

Nokia 2.1 Plus budget handset was spotted just a few days ago, with 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi support. With the recent FCC certification, it gives rise to speculation that the launch could be on December 5th.

For the third device, there is not much information though there is a chance that it could be the Nokia 8.1, the global variant of Nokia X7. We had recently reported that this smartphone could be coming to the Indian market on November 28th, so it remains to be seen whether HMD Global’s plans have changed and whether the India launch will be delayed due to that. The Nokia 8.1 price in India will be Rs 23,999.
