New Delhi: The coming assembly elections may see all parties fielding a common star campaigner. You have read it right. Just that, this star campaigner is not a human being, but a robot.
This robot has been developed at the Dehradun's IAAR Institute of Robotics specifically for elections. The robot is capable of perfect mimicry. In its automatic mode, it can interact with voters copying the exact expressions and voice of any politician. Parties can feed speeches of any politician, and the robot can then address rallies and gatherings with exact body gestures of the politician-same hand, head movements.etc, with exact voice. Many political parties have already placed orders for this robot, estimated to cost Rs 2 lakhs.
