Pankaj Sharma, New Delhi, Nov 27: In continuation to its consistent drive against drugs spearheaded by DIG JKS Range Vivek Gupta IPS under operation "SANJEEVANI" Jammu police achieved a major success today.
In a random Naka laid by Sog Jammu and police party from police station Nagrota, a major consignment of drugs was recovered which was being transported outside the state. The Naka party during random checking of vehicles signalled a truck bearing registration number JK03B /9258 to stop but the truck driver jumped the signal and tried to flee but was stopped by the Naka party and during comprehensive search of the truck approximately 600 kg of poppy straw (Bhukki) like substance has been recovered from the boxes loaded in the said truck. On further enquiry driver of truck disclosed his identity as Victor Massi s/o Danyel Massi R/o Mandi Mallapur district Ludhiana, Punjab who was arrested.
In this connection case Fir no. 300 /2018 under sec.8/15 NDPS Act stands registered and further investigation was taken up to unearth the others involved in it and more arrest and recovery is expected. The whole operation was monitored and executed under the supervision of SP Operations Jammu Sandeep Mehta and SP Rural Jammu Dushyant Sharma. The arrest of the accused and recovery of the consignment was affected by SHO police station Nagrota Deepak Pathania under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma. Jammu police have requested public to co-operate & strengthen the hands of Police to weed out the social evils from the society by providing inputs regarding the movement and activities of Narco-smugglers in their respective areas to Police.
