New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government has decided to start connecting with the Indian Muslims through a programme titled 'Progress Panchyat' . The programme will be coordinated by the Minority Affairs Ministry. The first Progress Panchayat of the series will be organised in Mewat, Haryana, onThursday.
Ministers and officials of different ministries will take part in the face-to-face interactions with the Muslims and other minorities at these Panchyats, with an intention to address the problems of the minorities on the spot.
The step is being seen as a step to win the confidence of Muslims, who by and large remain against the Modi-Amit Shah duo.
