New Delhi: Raking up the controversial Ayodhya dispute, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday said that a temple has to be constructed at Ram janmabhoomi for Hindus.
Speaking at a function in New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan, Bhagwat said: “For our Hindus, Ram Mandir should be built on Ram janmabhoomi.
“The dispute between Hindus and Muslims isn’t because of religious differences, but purely political,” he added, referring to the politicians who gain political mileage out of caste, culture, and religious divide.
Yesterday, Bhagwat addressed a gathering at the Siddhi Vinayak temple in Vadodara, wherein he stressed that India's diversity was a matter of "celebration" and not a "problem".
He said that "petty minds" divide the world on the basis of colour, language etc. and hence, Indians should strive to spread the message of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family).
"People with petty minds divide the world on the basis of colour, language, etc. But, those with liberal minds consider the entire world their own. We should strive to make the world one family," he added.
