Lucknow, June 10: After bumper mandate for PM Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha polls, the Ram Temple chants by the right-wing parties are growing louder. In a controversial statement, Shiv Sena on Monday went to the extent of saying that PM Modi, home minister Amit Shah and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were equivalent to Supreme Court in matter of Ram Temple. The party claimed that the temple construction will start by year-end.
"The decision will be taken by the majority. Do the voices of 125 crore people don't matter? The Supreme Court will continue to do its work. But we have many ways to go ahead. What is the Supreme Court for us? For us, Supreme Court is Narendra Modi ji, Amit Shah ji, Yogi ji and people. During campaigning, main issues including Ram temple, section 370 and uniform civil code were raised. These are issues of national interest and people voted for us based on these issues," Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was quoted as saying by ANI.
For Shiv Sena, Modi is no less than Supreme Court on the Ram temple issue because the country had elected him with an overwhelming majority, Raut added.
"The auspicious time has arrived. Soon the construction of the Ram temple will begin in Ayodhya under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This is not a fight for taking credit. We will listen to Modiji because the country has elected him. He is our Supreme Court, " said the Shiv Sena MP.
Asserting that a grand Ram temple will soon be a reality in Ayodhya, Raut said, "The BJP cannot keep asking people for votes in the name of the Ram temple year after year. It is Ram Lalla's blessings that resulted in the overwhelming mandate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections," he said.
The Shiv Sena leader's comments came ahead of his party chief Uddhav Thackeray's visit to Ayodhya. Thackeray and his party's newly elected MPs are scheduled to offer prayers at the makeshift Ram temple in Ayodhya on June 16.
"They will thank Ram Lalla for making Shiv Sena the largest party in the NDA after the BJP," said Raut."Ram temple will be constructed now. Nobody can stop the construction of Ram temple. In 2019, NDA got a huge majority. Ram temple is one of the issues. This is why nobody can stop it neither law nor those who are against the construction. This is the decision of people that's why they have voted us to power," added the Sena man,
"The case will continue. The whole country belongs to Shri Ram. Under the leadership of Modi ji and Yogi ji, we all dedicate to the construction of Shri Ram," added Raut
