New Delhi: About to complete three years in office, PM Narendra Modi is gearing up to play another 5-year inning. On Sunday he will meet top BJP leaders, Union ministers, Chie Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of the 13 BJP-ruled states and reenergise them for the upcoming assembly polls and 2019 general elections. BJP President too will be there
PM is likely to give them a pep talk for the 2019 elections, which will be seen as a referendum of his five-year rule. Three BJP ruled states, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, will also go to poll in 2018. PM doesn’t want any laxity to creep in which can trigger ant-incumbency against present BJP governments in states and Centre.
Acts of gaurakshaks and extreme Hindutva by certain leaders and workers will too be discussed. PM is likely to ask CMs and ministers to focus on the agenda of "good governance and development". PM Modi's pitch will include the need for them to focus on his development agenda with an emphasis on the poor sections of the society, party sources said.
