Lucknow, Oct 27: After Bihar, ally trouble seems to be brewing in Uttar Pradesh for BJP. Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief and UP cabinet minister OP Rajbhar has once again rebelled against CM Yogi Adityanath and has threatened to resign. Rajbhar accused the BJP of ignoring the backwards and poor for mandir-masjid. Speaking at a public rally, Rajbhar said that he was fed up with the policies of BJP now. “I did not enter politics to taste power; I came to fight for the poor. Shall I fight the war on their behalf or shall I become a slave of the BJP?," said Rajbhar. He is the minister for backward class welfare and divyangjan empowerment in the Yogi Cabinet.Denied space for his party's office, he threatened to quit. “I have made up my mind that I will announce my decision to tender resignation from this platform,” added Rajbhar. The Yogi minister said that the BJP has failed to fulfill its promises for welfare of the poor and is diverting attention of the people by talking about “temples and mosques”. “Whenever I discuss the condition of the poor they start talking about temples-mosques, Hindus-Muslims,” the minister said.Rajbhar is reportedly angry because BJP President Amit Shah refused to meet him when the latter visited Lucknow recently.
Known critic of Yogi government, Rajbhar had recently warned BJP that it will be wiped out in 2019 polls for ignoring the poor. “Either decide on the 27 percent reservation for backwards or be prepared to lose our votes in the 2019 polls,” Rajbhar had said in Ballia on October 13.Rajbhar had also opposed the decision to change name of Mughalsarai Railway station to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction.News24 Bureau/IANS(Photo Source: Internet)
