Ma Tujhe Salam! Martyred Major's wife says daughter will join Army

New Delhi: Major Satish Dahiya of the 30 Rashtriya Rifles was cremated with full state honours on Wednesday at his native village Banihari in Mahendragarh district.Major Dahiya and three other soldiers were martyred in two different encounters between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night.

He is survived by wife Sujata Choudhary and two-and-a-half- year-old daughter Priyansa.

Sujata said that she is proud of her husband who sacrificed his life for the country. “I will send my daughter to the Army to serve the nation,” Sujata added.

“Meri do saal ki beti ne uska pita de diya desh ko..bas isse zada aur nai hai dene ko..(My two-year-old daughter has given her father in nation’s service...we don’t have anything left to give),” Sujata was quoted as saying.

Sujata received her Valentines Day gift sent by Major Dahiya after the news of his death on February 14. “February 17 was our wedding anniversary. He had sent me a card, cake and flowers. He wrote I love you Sujata, you are my inspiration. Since morning he was telling me on phone that I will receive a surprise..I did, after receiving a call that he was no more, said a shocked Sujata

Major Dahiya was part of the team that had conducted surgical strike across the LoC in PoK last year.
