New Delhi, News24 Bureau, March 15: Though the candidature of Rahul Gandhi has been announced from Amethi, there is a buzz that the Congress president may also contest from a Karnataka seat as well.
There has been a demand from party activists, Congress President Rahul Gandhi may contest the Lok Sabha polls from a seat in Karnataka apart from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh where his candidature has already been announced.
There have been demands from Congress activists that Gandhi should be a candidate from a seat in southern India too.
In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi contested from two seats: Varanasi and Vadodara.
Karnataka is a very important state for Congress and Congress has been more or less comfortable here. Though Congress could not make government is the last assembly election despite emerging as the largest party, it is supporting the JD-U government. The seat-sharing process is almost in place in the state and Congress is hopeful of making it big in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
