NEW DELHI: Everyone knows vitamin D is necessary to stay healthy. It plays an important role to boost immunity, strengthen bone health, and helps in organ functioning. But Unfortunately, still 77 % of people doesn’t get enough vitamin D and face many deficiencies.
To get the daily need of vitamin D we can spend some time in the sun, as it is the most easiest and cheapest way to stay healthy. Sun is called 'the sunshine vitamin' as it helps to regulate the functions.
The best way to fulfill daily requirement of vitamin D is from sunlight, an adult should have exposure to sunlight for about about 20 to 30 minutes.
And winter day are best to expose to sunlight as it doesn’t dehydrate you and one should always wear sunscreen whenever exposed to sunlight. The best time to get sunlight from sun is when the sun rises in the morning and sun sets in the evening. But you should be careful as long exposer to the sun may burn your skin, so don’t forget to apply sunscreen to your skin before your skin turns to red.
If you are getting exposed to sunlight for longer period, you should cover your face with a cloth, and eyes with sunglasses, and apply at least SPF 30 sunscreen.
