New Delhi: Dr Ashish Mishra, new face on the cover of prestigious magazine Forbes, has made not only Jabalpur but the entire Madhya Pradesh proud.  Dr Mishra, CEO of Umlot India IT Consulting, has been selected by Forbes India for the March 2021 cover page and cover story.

Born and brought up in Jabalpur, Dr Mishra moved to Delhi after studying BE from Government Engineering College and later shifted Germany for work wherein he worked with renowned companies. After working with companies such as Airbus and others for past 24 years, Dr Mishra has now been sharing his aviation related learnings with the youth of the country.

Here's an excerpt from a lengthy conversation with Dr Mishra:

First job in Delhi

Dr Mishra did his mechanical engineering from Jabalpur Engineering College. He started his first paid job in New Delhi in 1997. He later moved to Germany in 2004 where he worked for a decade and also led his team in 2013-2014. "I have been working in this sector for 24 years. When I was in Germany, we engaged in work related to aviation. At that point of time, I only wanted to make the nation proud by working in renowned foreign companies," he said.

Germans wanted to work with us

The people there saw our work and appreciated it, they approached us in 2012-13, saying that we should start a similar engineering center in India. Worked in different Airbus programs. Thereafter, he worked in different airbus programmes which helped him in various ways. He then finally came to India and stared working with Hindustani software.

Heart is where India is!

Dr Mishra then talks about his love for India. He says no matter in which part of the world he lives, he continues to miss India. Germany has established its dominance in Engineering across the world. During his stay in the foreign country, he thought that if Germans could do it, so could we. This was his basic inspiration and all he wanted was to work hard to establish a name in the industries. After working in Airbus for a decade, Dr Mishra worked in several other companies and then finally came back to India. However,  it was a different challenge to establish a German company in India.

As of now, Mr Mishra is working with many companies, including Jio and Vodafone. He has also been associated with Indian Defence.
