NEW DELHI (DIVYA SAINI): Dandruff is undoubtedly the most annoying and embarrassing. The white flakes make an appearance look disappointing. This flaky situation gets even more out of control in winter season.
It’s time to start following some hair care tips to combat this issue with home remedies:
1. LEMON and HONEY
You can prepare a hair mask with honey and lemon juice to get rid of dandruff. Lemon juice helps cleanse the scalp and honey works on keeping it well hydrated and healthy. Honey also has antibacterial properties which fight scalp fungus and irritation.
In a bowl, take pure honey according to your hair length. Add the juice of half a lemon to it and mix well. Apply this mask on your scalp and massage gently. Rinse it off after 20 minutes with lukewarm water.
2. COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer with antibacterial properties that make your hair healthy. It maintains the pH level of you hair, which helps in preventing the dandruff.
Apply the oil on your scalp and massage. Wash it with a mild shampoo after 60 minutes.
Yogurt is an age-old remedy to get rid of dandruff and oily, itchy scalps. It is believed to be great for oily hairs as it zaps excess oil without stripping the natural oil from the scalp. It has natural enzymes that not only treats dandruff but also reduces hair fall and makes your hair stronger. This combination acts as a natural conditioner during the winter season and helps you to reduce hair fall. It cures dryness of the scalp and reduces dandruff. Squeeze a few drops of lemon in curd and apply on your hair as a mask. After 30 minutes rinse it with lukewarm water.
4. Aloe vera gel
Aloe vera is great for hydration, it also has antifungal properties that can be beneficial for our scalp. It can help balance the pH of your scalp and hair. Moreover, it has antibacterial properties which prevent infections on your scalp.
Mix two tablespoon of aloe vera gel with two tablespoons of mineral water. Keep this mask for 20 minutes before washing it off.
5. Fenugreek seeds and Hibiscus Flower
Fenugreek seeds have a high protein content which strengthens hair and prevents dandruff. Combine these two ingredients together can help you avoid hair issues during the winter season.
Soak two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and hibiscus flower overnight. Next morning, grind the fenugreek seeds and the flower. You can add a teaspoon of olive oil to this mixture. Apply this to your hair and wash it off after 30 minutes.
