Leader of ruling PDP Abdul Gani shot down by militants in Pulwama

Srinagar: Abdul Gani Dar, District President of Pulwama of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party finally succumbed to his injuries as suspected militants gunned him down. Senior police officer informed the media that Gani was heading towards Srinagar when suspected terrorists opened fire on him between Pahoo and Pinglan villages.

On Monday he was shot dead in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Police said the militants fired at Abdul Gani Dar when he was travelling in a vehicle near Pingalana village.

"He was shifted to Srinagar for treatment but he succumbed to injuries," a police officer said. Dar headed the PDP in Pulwama district. He was shot on chest, according to the reports pouring in.
