Kochi: After 'She Taxi', Kerala government is set to launch 'She Shops' in Kochi on International Women's Day.
According to a report in the Times of India, the project, which is being jointly implemented by Kochi Municpal Corporation and Kerala State Women's Development Corporation (KSWDC), will be run by women as a part of the state's poverty eradication program.
Under the project, the civic body will identify women who are in need of financial support and let them run food stalls at places identified by the corporation.
The food will be prepared in a centralised kitchen without using whole flour and added colors and the waste produced at these stall will be used to produce bio gas. The menu will be decided by KSWDC and will include snacks and beverages specific to the state, the English daily added in its report.
