New Delhi ( Aarti Pokhriyal): The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has dispatched a recommendation to the Centre to construct Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Lucknow, Sonbhadra, Bijnor, and Shravasti districts in the state.
Eklavya schools are presently operating in Bahraich and Lakhimpur in the state as well as one is under formation in Lalitpur.
The state government has been continuously functioning to give better education facilities to the underprivileged children relating to tribal and remote regions.
The state government has already distributed a sum of Rs 48 crore to construct an Eklavya School in the Sonbhadra district.
Along with this, it has also brought a proposal to establish three more Eklavya schools in the state with an approximate cost of about 38 crores to procure high-quality education to the students of tribal lineage.
In order to provide quality education in deprived regions, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced to build 750 Eklavya Model Residential Schools while proposing the union budget on Monday.
The idea of Eklavya Schools was first inducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to Gujarat's Ekal Vidyalaya Sangathan.
Currently, there are 462 Eklavya Schools across the country.
