Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has decided to defer conducting Provincial Civil Service (PCS) Main 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state. As per the revised schedule, the UPPSC PCS Main 2021 examination will now be held from March 23 to March 27, 2022.

Notably, it is for the second time, the dates of UPPSC PCS Main 2021 examination have been postponed. Originally, it was about to be held from January 23, 2022.
Candidates who have qualified UPPSC PSC preliminary 2021 exam, conducted on October 24, are eligible for this round. The board had declared the prelims result on December 1, last year in which a total of 7,688 candidates had qualified the test.
The commission will hold the Main examinations in offline mode at designated centres in these three cities -- Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, and Lucknow. The total duration of the exam is three hours.
According to the officials, this comes after observing the Coronavirus situation prevailing across the state. It is worth noting that the state has reported a reduction in the numbers of COVID-19 cases as compared to yesterday. Currently, there are 98,238 active cases. There is a drop of around 3,000 in active cases in the last 24 hours.
