Chennai: Pre-placement offers (PPOs) in the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) have increased this academic year (2021-22) in comparison to the last.
Around 227 PPOs have been made till November 5 while the institute made a statement, saying that PPOs will continue to be made till Phase I of campus placements start on December 1.
Reportedly, the core engineering and research & development sectors have seen the most PPOs, this year. The institute revealed that the recruiters are Qualcomm, Microsoft, Honeywell, Texas Instruments and Goldman Sachs.
The institute believes that the one of the central factors behind the spike in PPOs was the strong internship programme, facilitating students to intern in companies and leading to more PPOs.
