JNU cancels Subramanian Swamy's talk on Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

New Delhi, Dec 6: JNU has cancelled public lectures and talks on the issue of Ramjanam Bhoomi and Babri Masjid today in order to maintain communal harmony and peace and stability in the campus. BJP's Subramanian Swamy was supposed to be the star speaker at the event today. 

Another set of row has started as JNU cancelled the scheduled talk by senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on the topic 'Why Ram Mandir in Ayodhya'. 

The talk was to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition to take place in Koyna Hostel of JNU on Wednesday.The JNU administration has not cited any reason behind the cancelation. An official release by the University says, “The competent authority has decided that no talk will take place in Koyna Hostel, JNU on 6/12/2017. Hence the talk entitled, “Why Ram Mandir in Ayodhya” which was going to take place in Koyna Hostel on 6/12/2017 has been cancelled".
Interestingly, the speech of former general secretary Prakash Karat, Communist Party of India (Marxist) former general secretary at the mess in Sabarmati will be as per schedule.
