New Delhi: India's biggest telecom operators, Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea received Valentine's Day greeting from an unlikely quarter. The newest player in the telecom company, Reliance Jio has wished the three telecom service providers 'Happy Valentine's Day' on Twitter.
"Dear @airtelindia, @VodafoneIN, @ideacellular, Happy Valentine's Day. #WithLoveFromJio," goes the tweet from Reliance Jio's official handle @reliancejio.
The tweet appears to be a kind of poke greetings from the company that has been sharing a weird relationship with the existing telcos ever since it launched on September 1, 2016.
The company's 'Welcome Offer' (now rebranded as Happy New Year offer), gives off free data benefits along with voice calls.. All the three companies have gone to court against the various free promotional services being offered by Reliance Jio.
However, on its part, Reliance Jio has blamed the three tele companies, particularly Airtel, of not providing adequate points of interconnect (PoI) to the company. This, Jio claims, is causing massive call failures on its network.
Recently, Jio stepped forward when Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted to Vodafone India about some issue he was facing with his number.
Reliance Jio promptly replied to the tweet and offered to get a Jio SIM card delivered to Mr Bachchan card at his home and activate it via Aadhaar. "Sir, we would be happy to deliver a Jio SIM to you & activate it instantly through our Aadhaar based eKYC home delivery process," said the company in the tweet.
