Srinagar: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti will chair a meeting of senior party leaders to discuss government formation in Jammu and Kashmir today.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has 28 ministers in the state assembly and needs 16 members to form the government.
Earlier, the PDP chief while speaking at a meting of core-party members had said that she was in no hurry to take over as the chief minister of J&K.
The party had taken a firm stand and asserted that the BJP should give out concrete assurances for implementing the coalition since it is in power at the Centre.
Meanwhile, the state of Jammu & Kashmir continues to be under Governor’s rule, which was imposed on January 8, a day after former CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away.
