And, the first pictures of the just married couples surfaced on social media. The pictures are going viral like a wild fire. The year's biggest event at the Mukesh and Nita's 27-storey home 'Antilia' in Mumbai was attended by some of the leading faces from politics, Bollywood, sports and business.
Isha and Anand were spotted in colour-coordinated outfits for the D-day. Isha opted for a golden Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla lehenga and Anand preferred a beige sherwani.
The guests who were present at the wedding included former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton, former president Pranab Mukherjee, Sharad Pawar, Rajnath Singh, Mamata Banerjee, Maneka Gandhi, N Chandrababu Naidu, Rajinikanth, HD Deve Gowda, Vijay Rupani, Suresh Prabhu and P Chidambaram.Earlier, the pre-wedding celebrations took place in Rajasthan's Udaipur where guests were treated to dazzling performances from American pop sensation Beyonce Knowles, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Karan Johar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.Pictures and videos from the pre-wedding bash also went viral on the social media. Some even called it as " wedding of the year" and according to reports, it is believed that nearly $100 million spent on the wedding.
Anand Piramal, 33, is the son of Ajay Piramal, the chairman of the Piramal Group of companies, whose interests range from pharmaceuticals to financial services and real estate financing.
The couple got engaged in Italy's Lake Como in September this year. The Ambani and Piramal families have been friends for four decades and the wedding will bring India's two most influential families closer.
