Big opportunity for women in Indian Army, PM Modi keeps his promise

New Delhi, News24 Bureau, May 28: For the first time, the Indian Army has invited for recruitment in 100 posts of General Duty for the Women's Military Police. If you want to join the Indian Army and serve your country, then you can apply for these posts. The application process has just started. The last date to apply is 8 June 2019.

To join the Indian Army, log in to the official website at joinindianarmy.nic.in. The women who will be selected will be appointed in Ambala, Lucknow, Jabalpur, Bangalore and Shillong. Candidates will be allotted location on the basis of their home districts. The final location and recruitment date will be given on the Admit Card.

Who can apply?

The women who want to apply for these posts should have passed class 10th and SSC equivalent degree from any recognized institution. At the same time, it is mandatory to have a total of 33% marks in each subject with 45% marks.

Age Limit:

Women should be between 17 years and 21 years of age. Candidate born from 1st October 1998 to 01 April 2002

Selection procedure:Candidates have to pass a physical fitness test. Candidates who have physically fit and pass the fitness test will be given a chance to take a written test. After the selection, the applicants will be given training at CMP Center and School, Bangalore for 33 weeks.

Married women:Women who are widowed, divorced or legally different, can also apply for these posts. Provided they have no child. At the same time, widows of defense personnel who died while protecting the country are also eligible to apply. They can apply even if they have children provided she did not get married again.

Marriage during training:

Women cannot marry unless they complete their training in Bangalore. Not abiding by this rule can lead to termination from service.

Let us know, this will be the first time that women can apply as soldiers in the military police in the army. Its notification was released in April. This step was taken last year after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech, in which he had said that under the short service commission, women officers recruited in the Armed Forces will be given the option of taking a permanent commission.
