Kolkata: Even before the West Bengal Election 2021 is over, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee had given a message about the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo said at a meeting at Chunchura in Hooghly district on Monday, "I will win Bengal with one foot. I will win Delhi with both feet."
A few days ago, a tweet targeting PM Modi on behalf of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) mentioned, "You have to face a tough challenge in Varanasi."
In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said sarcastically, "Didi will fight from Varanasi."
In this context, some observers feel that today's remarks by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo have added a new dimension.
It is to be noted that Mamata Banerjee had practically jumped into the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by forming an alliance with non-BJP parties. In the run-up to the 19th Lok Sabha elections, Mamata Banerjee had become the face of the anti-BJP opposition. However, in the end, the PM Modi government won by a huge margin.
Meanwhile, in the run-up to the West Bengal Election 2021, while targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee had said, "Stop misleading the people of Bengal. Find a safe seat for yourself in 2024. Because you have to face a tough challenge in Varanasi."
After that, PM Modi came to Bengal to campaign and said, "Didi is looking for a place outside Bengal. Didi will contest Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi. But the people of Varanasi will not call you an outsider."
On the other hand, targeting the BJP, Mamata Banerjee said, "Gujaratis will not rule Bengal."
