Kolkata: Keeping in mind the coronavirus pandemic, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) had demanded that the last three rounds of the West Bengal Election 2021 be held in one go.
The Election Commission did not agree, saying that so many central forces could not be deployed at the same time.
On wednesday, Mamata Banerjee blamed PM Modi for the rise in coronavirus cases in West Bengal.
"The coronavirus pandemic was gone. The central government said coronavirus was gone. So what happenned again? Now people are coming from outside and spreading coronavirus. I have been saying from the beginning that outsiders are bullying, and diseases are spreading," Mamata Banerjee said at a TMC rally in Balurghat today
"Remember, this is not a man-made disaster. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now left the whole matter to the people. The people will handle this time. Are you saying people will see this time by increasing it? It is a disaster of the Government of India. This is a Modi made disaster."
TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly blamed the BJP for the increase in coronavirus cases in West Bengal.
"There is no coronavirus medicine, no injection in the country. Medicines made in our country have been sent abroad. Eighty-five percent of the drugs were shipped abroad. Now there is no medicine, no injection, no oxygen in the country. Not only us, Delhi, Maharashtra are crying," Mamata Banerjee said.
