Kolkata: Violence and killings continue unabated during West Bengal Election 2021.The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and main rivals BJP are indulging in daily clashes and targeted killings against each other.
Now a BJP worker has been kidnapped from a petrol pump.
According to local sources, a BJP activist has been abducted in a filmy manner from Banashanka village in Purandarpur under Siuri police station in Birbhum district.
The BJP has alleged that the TMC is responsible for this incident. BJP workers staged a two-hour demonstration in front of Siuri police station in protest against the incident.
According to BJP workers, Ghanshyam Mahara was abducted from a Dhaka petrol pump in Purandarpur around 12:30 pm on Tuesday by Trinamool Congress (TMC) miscreants. Since then, there has been no trace of the BJP worker.
Another BJP activist Shivnath Mahara was allegedly beaten during the incident. The BJP activist is undergoing treatment at Siuri Sadar Hospital.
The twin incidents have caused widespread unrest in the area. The local BJP demanded the immediate resignation of the Chief Minister. However, no response has been received from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) so far.
